Adeline Stennes, 96

Adeline Stennes, 96, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Monday, February 06, 2012 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Westaker Free Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN with Pastor Phil Rokke officiating.  Burial will follow at the Bethania Cemetery, Marsh Grove Township, Marshall County, MN.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday at the church.

 Adeline A. Dahl was born on January 13, 1916 on the home farm near Strandquist, MN the daughter of Samuel and Clara (Holmstrom) Dahl. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith. Adeline attended country school through the eighth grade and then attended high school in Newfolden, MN.

On October 29, 1941, Adeline was united in marriage to Gilman Stennes at the parsonage in Viking by Rev. Harlan Peterson. The couple lived and farmed in West Valley Township, Marshall County, MN until retiring in 1976 when they moved to the city of Strandquist.

Through the years, Adeline enjoyed her life on the farm where the couple raised their two sons, Robert and Merrill. Adeline also enjoyed her large garden, crocheting, and knitting.

She was a member of the Bethania Free Lutheran Church, and after moving to Thief River Falls in 1996, Adeline enjoyed attending the Abundant Life Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Marlyce) Stennes of White Bear Lake MN and Anthem, AZ.; Daughter-in-law Renee Stennes of Anthem AZ, grandchildren, Todd, (Anne) Tamera(Tim), Tricia(Denny), Taren(Jason), Mia and Leif(Kristen); 11 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Special Niece: Lynette Lane and Special friends: Janis and Floyd Jesme.

Adeline is preceded in death by her husband, Gilman on December 23, 1996; son, Merrill Wayne; and siblings, Kenneth Dahl, Bernice Westman, Clifford Dahl and Norella Donarski.

Memorials are suggested to the Bethania Cemetery fund or the Trumpet of Truth radio program.
