Audrey Olson, 70

Audrey Olson, 70, of Badger, MN, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in St. Mary’s Hospital at Rochester, MN.
      Audrey Olson was born Audrey Fay Evans, the daughter of Clyde & Lillian (Mohagen) Evans on July 25, 1941 at Roseau, MN.  She lived on the family farm at Malung and attended the Malung School from grades 1 to 8 and graduated from Roseau High School in 1959.  She received Teachers Training at Thief River Falls and from Bemidji State University.  She taught at Skime, Strathcona, Holt, Haug-Leo & Greenbush schools.
      Audrey married Dennis Olson on June 9, 1962 at Salem Lutheran Church at Malung.  They lived in Greenbush for 26 years before moving to their farm in Nereson Township, rural Badger, MN.
      Audrey was a very active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush where she served on the church council, in the BLCW, Sunday School, and as a youth mentor. She was a member of the Greenbush Hospital and LifeCare Hospital Boards.  She was a Cub Scout leader, member of the Roseau Co. Senior Citizens Committee and the Karlstad Quilt Guild.
      She enjoyed quilting, gardening, dancing, playing cards with friends and family, playing games with Grandkids, skating, snowmobiling, riding 4-wheeler while checking the farm, the Roseau Co. Fair and watching all high school sports.
      She is survived by husband—Dennis.

          Donovan (Mary) of Brainerd, MN,
          Cameron (Andrea) of Roseau, MN,
          Shannon (Charolette) of Moorhead, MN and
          Brandon (Danielle) of Badger, MN.
16 Grandchildren—Annette, Aaron, Evan, Tami Jo, Dana, Cameo, Lars, Madison, Elliot, Sophia, Ariel, Steffan, Alissa, Cody, Tony & Issac.
          Brothers & sisters—Joan (Morris) Hulst of Badger, MN,
Ione (Gary) Olson, Ruth (Peter) Kruse, Leelan (Joni) Evans, Sam (Jane) Evans & Louise (Dr. Lorris) Vatnsdal, all of Roseau, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
      Funeral service were held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Bethel Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor Mark Mathews, officiating. Linda Sovde was the organist and special music was provided by Arlene Jenson.  Audrey’s five sons served as pallbearers—Sheldon, Donovan, Cameron, Shannon & Brandon Olson.  Burial was in Nannestad Cemetery, rural Badger, MN, with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush in charge of arrangements.
