John Pready, 96

John Pready, 96, of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away on Thursday,
April 19th, 2012 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock,
Minnesota.  John was born to William and Marie (Munawich) Pready on
November 26th, 1915 at Caribou, Minnesota.  John served with the U.S.
Army during WWII and built army barracks on the Aleutian Islands.  He
returned home and began farming in Caribou Township.  John was an
avid fisherman and fished in the Roseau River just a short distance
from his back yard.  He also enjoyed hunting and was an excellent
shot.  In January of this year John entered the VA Hospital in Fargo
and in March transfered to the Karlstad Nursing Center. John moved to
his apartment in Lancaster last August.
    He is survived by three sisters, Alma (Carl) Anderson, Lake Bronson,
MN, Lena Adams, Karlstad and Sadie Bugera, Vita, Manitoba; 11 nieces
and nephews, Roxanne, Melanie, Dorothy, Donald, Casandra, Leland,
Clayton, Earl, Kay, Boris and Greg.  He was preceded in death by his
parents, brothers, Fred, Eli and Mike and sisters, Doris and Verna.  
Memorial services are scheduled for Monday, April 23, 2012 at 2:00
p.m. in the Austin Funeral Chapel at Hallock.  Pastor Kathy
Levenhagen, presiding; Sharlene Klegstad, pianist and Faye Potrament,
soloist.  Honorary casket bearers will be nieces and nephews.  A flag
presentation will be made by Veterans Servicer Officer, Robert
Cameron.
