Palmer Levenhagen, 81

  Palmer Levenhagen, 81,  of Lake Bronson, Minnesota passed away
at the Karlstad Healthcare Center in Karlstad, Minnesota on Sunday,
June 3, 2012.   Palmer Ferdinand Levenhagen was born April 14, 1931
to Fred and Clara
(Kiester) Levenhagen in Monona Iowa.  He went to school in Monona
Iowa till
the 8th grade at Suttle Creek School.   The family moved to Donaldson
in1943.  Later they moved to the farm in Lake Bronson.  Palmer liked
to fish
and enjoyed gardening.  

Palmer worked for Norman Bogestad sorting potatoes, Kiene Farms and
Ray
Moose with more general farming before moving to Anoka.  Palmer and
his
brother Fritz worked at a welding shop in Anoka.  Palmer
spent
most of his life at this job.  

In 1991, Palmer returned to Lake Bronson and married Karen Westphal
on June 29, 1996.
Palmer was employed at the Lake Bronson State Park for the summer
months and
truly loved that job.
     Family members include his children,Philip (Deanna) Levenhagen,
Andover, MN, Pam (Rick) Welch, Belle Plaine, MN, David Levenhagen,
Coon Rapids, Beth (Steve) Kratzke, Elk River, MN and Paula (Eric)
Stume, North Oaks, MN; grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Dean, Daniel
and Sophie; great grandsons, Daniel and Joshua; a sister, June
(David) Karol; brothers, Fritz (Mary) Levenhagen, Willard (Violet),
Levenhagen, David (Margaret) Levenhagen and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters Ruth and
Florence.
brothers, Gerhardt and Charles; a nephew, Troy Levenhagen and a
niece, Patsy Johnson.  
   Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 9th, 2012 at
2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Lake Bronson.  Visitation will
be held at the church for one hour before the service.  Interment
will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen,
presiding; Lenore Olson, organist and Kristi Wojciechowski, soloist.
Casket bearers will be Richard Levenhagen, Wade Levenhagen, Todd
Levenhagen, Al Johnson, Mitchell Karol and Mitchell Braget.The Austin
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
