John James Wittak, Jr., 85

 John James Wittak, Jr., age 85, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Badger, MN and Alaska, died March 11, 2012 at Las Vegas.
     Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Badger, MN with Father John Kleinwatcher, officiating.
      John was born January 25, 1927 at rural Badger to parents John and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Wittak.  His father was accidentally killed in 1933.  His mother later married George Foldesi.
      John grew up at rural Badger and attended school there.  He then served in the U.S. Army for two years.
      John lived at Point Barrow, Alaska and worked on the Alaska Pipeline as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years.  After he retired he lived at San Diego, California for several years and later at Las Vegas.
      He is survived by his brother—Raymond (Eileen) Wittak of Flaxville, Montana, a brother-in-law—John Froshaug Sr. of Denver, Colorado and several nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his siblings,  Bertha and husband Andrew Foldesi, Eugene and wife Helen Wittak,  Bernice & husband Albert Penas Sr.,  Lois & husband Fritz Seydel,  Betty Froshaug,  Robert & wife Loralie Foldesi, and a sister in childhood—Kathleen Wittak.
      Local arrangements are with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
