Loreen Sovde, 82

Loreen Sovde, 82, of Greenbush, MN, died Wednesday afternoon, August 15, 2012 in LifeCare Greenbush Manor at Greenbush, MN.
      Loreen Sovde was born Loreen Eldora Wicklund, the daughter of Eric & Alma (Rud) Wicklund on October 14, 1929 at Strathcona, MN.  She grew up and attended school at Strathcona.  Loreen loved children and she worked in Childcare and Domestic work for several years before her marriage.  She married Lyle Curtis Sovde on May 6, 1954 at Thief River Falls, MN.  She traveled extensively with Lyle as he served for many years in the U.S. Air Force.  They retired in 1976 and settled in Greenbush.  Lyle died on November 14, 1994.  She had been a resident for a short time at The Meadows, Assisted Living Center in Karlstad, MN and since December, 2007, a resident of LifeCare Greenbush Manor of Greenbush.
      Loreen was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Greenbush, the American Legion Auxiliary of Greenbush and the Salvation Army.
      She is survived by 5 Brothers—Don (Doris) Wicklund of Greenbush;  Ferdie Wicklund of Elbow Lake, MN;  Ervin (Ione) Wicklund of Auburn Washington, Nels (Cleone) Wicklund of Auburn, Washington & Russell (Kathleen) Wicklund of Greenbush.   2 Sisters—Juliet (Don) Nelson of Warroad and Williams, MN and Ione (Tom) Krause of Auburn, Washington. Sister-in-law—Margaret Wicklund of Bradenton, Florida and Brother-in-law—David Hyllengren of Palm Desert, California.     Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
      She was preceded in death by her husband—Lyle, her parents, 1 Brother—Lloyd Wicklund, 1 sister—Sandra Hyllengren and a brother-in-law—EllKay Larson.
      Funeral Services for Loreen were held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Bethel Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor Paul Koch, officiating.  Linda Sovde was the organist and Arlene Jenson was the vocalist.  Nels Wicklund served as Reader. Pallbearers were Dale, Daryl & James Wicklund, Rick, Jon & Steve Sovde.  Members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 88 of Greenbush served as the Honorary Group.  Interment was in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery at Greenbush with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush in charge of arrangements.
