Marvin Rayfield Peterson, 77

Marvin Rayfield Peterson, the son of the late Oscar and Winnifred (Parker) Peterson, was born on Jan. 28, 1935, at Bowesmont, North Dakota.  He attended school and grew to manhood there, graduating from Bowesmont High School in 1955.  Marvin was raised in the Methodist faith.  He served with the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960, serving in Alaska, and following discharge from service, went to Cavalier, North Dakota, where he worked as a mechanic for Page Oil Co. for a few years.  On July 16, 1962, Marvin was united in marriage to Margaret Thompson at Cavalier and the couple resided there for 2 years.  They then moved to Grafton, ND, where he worked as a mechanic for Nygard Auto a short time before moving to Drayton in 1965 and worked for Everson Motors for 6 years.  In 1973, they moved to Karlstad where they have since made their home.  He worked for Gene Anderson Motors and later at the Greenbush Chevrolet dealer.  He went to work as a window repairman for Marvin Windows for 22 years.  Marvin had been in failing health for the past 4 years and currently resided at the Karlstad Healthcare Center in Karlstad.  He passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls on Wed. morning, Oct. 10, 2012, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 12 days.
