Richard R. Love age 50 of Fisher, MN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at his home in Fisher, MN.
Richard Roger Love was born on May 1, 1962 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Roger and Evelina “Eva” (Abeld) Love.
Richard grew up in rural East Grand Forks, MN and attended school in Fisher, MN, graduating with the Class of 1980. Following his high school graduation he joined the United States Navy in 1980 serving our country as a Sonar Technician on the USS Bainbridge in Bremerton, WA. In his spare time while on the ship he enjoyed cooking. In 1981 he was united in marriage to Heidi Wagner for several years. Richard was honorably discharged in 1984. After his navy career he attended the Area Vocational Technical College in East Grand Forks in the Banking and Finance Program graduating in 1987.
Richard worked at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN as a bookkeeper, worked for PPG and KABO Chemical companies. Richard also owned and operated Valley Fruits & Vegetables. Richard then went on and expanded this endeavor and began farming on his own while helping his father farm. Richard enjoyed designing and building, wood working, welding, golfing, playing billiards and shooting darts with all his friends.
Loving family members of Richard include his parents of East Grand Forks, MN, children, Nicolai (Sara) of Jackson, MO, Jennifer (Stacy) of Lincoln, NE, Antoine of Cedar Falls, IA and Myles of Crookston, MN; along with 4 grandchildren; siblings, Caroline (Dean) Tinkham of Fisher, MN, Marlys (Colin) Pester of East Grand Forks, MN and Dwight (Peggy) Love of Grand Forks, ND; grandmother, Inez Love of East Grand, MN; and special friend Trudy Smith of Crookston, MN.
Richard is predeceased in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Lucy Abeld and his paternal grandfather George “Ernie” Love.
Visitation: 1:00 to 3:00 with a 2:30 PM Prayer Service on Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, 528 10th St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN and also one hour prior Memorial Service.
