Robert George Lee was born on April 26th, 1932 to Ole O. and Rose (Nelson) Lee of Dieter Township, in rural Badger, MN. He attended country school in district 10 S. and graduated from Badger High School in 1950. He then attended and graduated from the University of MN in St. Paul in 1954 with a degree in agriculture.
Robert married Lorna Goos on June 23rd, 1958. They had 5 children: Lois, Glen, Diane, Pamela and Stacey.
Robert farmed on the home place and eventually took over the dairy herd from his father. He loved farming, and especially liked growing small grains. His favorite aspect of farming was plowing the fields, and the rows had to be straight! He was proud of his children and was honored to be a kidney donor to his son, Glen in 1974. Even though Glen passed away nearly 3 1/2 years later. Robert gave up dairy farming and passed it on to his son Stacey. He continued to raise small grains because it was his best option at his age, he enjoyed it, and he did not want to retire completely.
Robert was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He also served on the Badger Elevator board and the Badger Creamery board.
