Helen Lillian Truscinski, 102

Helen Lillian Truscinski was born in Florian, MN. on May 18, 1911 to Walenty and Kathern (Kujawa) Kasprowicz.  She attended school in the nearby town of Englund and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian.  
Following school Helen continued to live with her parents and help with the family farm until November 21, 1927 when she was united in marriage to Peter Frank Truscinski. Helen and Peter lived in numerous locations including Florian, St. Paul, and Chicago working a variety of occupations including a seamstress for Lee Overall Company, restaurant cook for two clubs, Armor and Company Meat Packing Plant and Armor Soap Company. She and Peter eventually settled in Greenbush, MN in 1944 where she has continued to make her home.
Helen purchased a grocery store in Greenbush and continued to run it until selling it in 1971 and she continued to work there for another 2 years. Helen went on to work as a housekeeper for Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and also worked for the Greenbush Hospital. Helen worked for 11 ½ years, eventually retiring and spent her time babysitting her Great Grand children.
Helen entered LifeCare Greenbush Manor in March of 2009 where she past away on June 20, 2013 at the age of 102 years, 1 month, and 2 days.
Helen was a past member of Assumption Catholic Church in Florian, a member of St. Ann’s Sodality, and a current member of BlessedSacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush. She enjoyed bingo quilting, sewing, baking, embroidering, making donuts and apple pies.
Helen is survived by six grandsons: Mark of Camarillo, CA, Tim of Moorhead, MN, Robert (Patty), Rodney (Angie), Alan (Valarie) and LeRoy Truscinski all of Greenbush, two grand daughters: Bernadette Skalecki of Union Grove, WI and Barb (Jim) Befus of Racine, WI; 22 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Valarian, one grandson Greg Trusckinski, one grand daughter, Jennifer (in infancy), one great grandson Philip Skalecki (in infancy), three sisters, six brothers, and her daughter in law, Leona Trusckinski.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush with Father Bill DeCrans officiating.  Alex and Madison Truscinski are Altar Servers and Patty and Valarie Truscinski are Gift Bearers.  Helen’s Casket Bearers are her Grandsons: Mark, Tim, Robert, Alan, Rodney, and LeRoy Truscinski and Eucharistic Ministers are Helens Granddaughters: Barb Befus and Bernadette Skalecki. Readers are Mark and David Truscinski and Song Leaders are Madison Truscinski and Missy Anderson.  Jeanne Novacek is the Organist providing music for the Mass.
Visitation will be held after 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26 at the Church with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. and Rosary to follow.
Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Greenbush following services.
