Delphine Sindelir, 83

Delphine Sindelir, age 83, of Graceton, Minnesota passed away at Lakewood Care Center on December 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Delphine was born in Graceton, Minnesota on October 19, 1930 to Alfred and Emma (Heauser) Muggli.  She and her twin brother, Clarence, were the youngest of six children. She attended country school in the Graceton and Pitt area and graduated from Baudette High School in 1948. On October 24, 1951, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williams, Delphine married the love of her life, Henry Sindelir. They were blessed with seven children.

Delphine’s passion in life was caring for her husband, children and grandchildren!  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing big meals for the entire family on holidays and special occasions. She was lovingly known to her family and friends as the food-pusher. She liked playing cards with Henry and friends.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, canning, writing letters, and praying for all of her family. She always traveled with Henry as he entertained people with his drums, and was helpful in carrying and setting up all of his equipment. Her biggest regret was watching other couples dance as she and the other wives sat and watched. However, Henry & Delphine were a striking couple on the dance floor!

In 1970, Henry and Delphine purchased Tom’s Tackle from the Marhula family. Delphine was the bookkeeper for the 30 years they owned the family business, and kept perfect records to keep Henry organized. In 1978, she began working at Rowell Laboratories and worked there for nearly 15 years. After her retirement, Henry and Delphine enjoyed going on cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. They also enjoyed many bus trips & visits to family and friends.  After Henry’s death in 2010, Delphine was truly heartbroken and endured many health issues until her passing.

Delphine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a 4-H leader for many years.

She is survived by her children, Larry Sindelir of Baudette, Susan Baron and Marilyn(Scott) Guenin of Graceton, Cathy Mitchell of West Fargo, Steve (Carol) Sindelir and Connie(Barry) Nesmith of Baudette.; her 10 grandchildren, Jolen (Sevon) Simon, Bryan, Deanna and Dan Baron, Michelle(Quentin) Allen and Melissa (Dustin) Solar, Brent (Karri Huismann), Nick (Anna) and Kylie(Mike Seaberg) Mitchell, and Cori Nesmith; great-grandchildren  Brant and Nahlia Baron, Elijah Allen and Daxton Solar.
