James Kryzsko,75

James Kryzsko age 75 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Saturday, January 18th, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

James Allan Kryzsko was born on December 26, 1938 in Grafton, ND the son of Alfred and Margaret (Murphy) Kryzsko.  James grew up in Grand Forks and attended school at St. Michaels and St. James graduating with the Class of 1956 from Grand Forks Central High School.  On November 7, 1964 he was united in marriage to Cecilia Gapp in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Walhalla, ND.  He worked for National Tea Co. in Grand Forks from 1953 to 1968.  In 1961 he joined the United States Army and served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1963.  He managed Tiny Tiger in Grafton, ND and in  Hutchinson, MN for one year.  They moved back to East Grand Forks where he worked for Osco Drug from 1970 until 2005.

Cherished family members who survive Jim include his loving wife Cecilia of East Grand Forks, MN; children, Lori (Harold) Reimer of East Grand Forks, MN, Mike Kryzsko of Little Falls, MN, Sheri (Tom) Jerome of Roseau, MN and Cindy (Todd) O’Connell of Moorhead, MN; thirteen grandchildren, Samantha, Caleb, Hannah and Caden Reimer; Jordan and Jared Kryzko; Emily, Sam, Maddie and Jack Jerome; Taylor, Cole and Kenzie O’Connell; siblings, Mary Jean Morris of Mesa, AZ, Francis (Carolyn) Kryzsko of Grand Forks, ND, Bonnie (Ralph) Fetter of Brooklyn Park, MN, Peggy Kryzsko of Devils Lake, ND, Nancy (Bob) Rood of Horace, ND and Sally (Greg) Stocker of East Grand Forks, MN along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

            Jim is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Margaret Kryzsko.

 

          Jim was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish where he served as an usher. He was also an active member of Sacred Heart Athletic Club, being voted Man of the Year in 1990, and also a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed time at the lake with his family and traveling with his wife. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Twins and Fighting Sioux.  He attended many Twins games and knew all kinds of sports trivia.  His greatest joy was being his grandchildren’s’ biggest fan at their games.

Jim was a loving husband, dad and grandpa who will be deeply missed.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Development & Sacred Heart Athletic Dept.

 

Mass of Christian Burial:  10:30 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

 

Visitation:  5:00 to 7:00 with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Friday, January 24, 2014 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also one hour prior Funeral Service on Saturday.

 

Interment:  Resurrection Cemetery ~ East Grand Forks, MN
