Marvin Anderson, 96,

Marvin  Anderson, 96, of Lake Bronson, Minnesota passed away
Thursday, May 8th, 2014 at Karlstad Healthcare Center in Karlstad,
Minnesota.  Marvin Lars Anderson was born September 28, 1917 to Elmer
and Mary (Carlson) Anderson on the family farm in Jupiter Township of
Kittson County.  He was baptized and confirmed in East Emmaus
Lutheran Church.  Marvin attended country school and moved to Thief
River Falls in the mid 1940’s.  On December 29, 1945 he married
Violet “Babe” Hastings at Thief River Falls.  The couple lived in
Thief River Falls for several years before settling on a farm near
Lake Bronson.  Marvin farmed and worked for LeDoux Trucking.  He also
did construction work on several area projects including the highway
59 bridge at Lake Bronson.  Marvin continued to farm and work at
American Crystal Sugar Company in Drayton, North Dakota until his
retirement in 1980.  Marvin enjoyed the farm, loved horses and  was a
notorious practical joker.   He lost his beloved Violet on April 3rd
of this year. Marvin was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Lake
    He is survived by his children, Avis (Ron) Sele, Karlstad, MN and
Duane (Deborah) Anderson, Lake Bronson; four grandchildren, Scott
(Carol) Sele, Karlstad, Kevin (friend Chris) Sele, Karlstad, Dianna
(Kurt) Kluzak, Faribault, MN and Chris (friend Lindsey) Anderson,
Lake Bronson; 8 great grandchildren, Laura, Eric, Alex, Ashlee,
Briana, Megan, Kyle and Zander; a brother, Freddie (Evelyn) Anderson
and sister-in-law, Donna Fae Anderson, Hallock, MN.  He was preceded
in death by his wife, Violet; brothers, Carl Swanberg, Leo, Allan,
and Stanley Anderson.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 15th, 2014 at 2:00
p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Lake Bronson.  Interment will be in
Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson.  Pastor Kathy Levenhagen,
presiding; Everett Englund, soloist and Corienne Jacobson, organist.
Honorary casket bearers will be friends and neighbors.  Casket
bearers will be Scott and Kevin Sele, Dianna Kluzak, Chris Anderson,
Eric, Laura and Alex Sele and Klye Kluzak. Visitation will be held on
Wednesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in
the Austin Funeral Home at Hallock.
