Geraldine “Gerri” A. Bach, 86 of Virginia Beach, VA and formerly of East Grand Forks, MN went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Assisted Living Center in Virginia Beach, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side.
A native of East Grand Forks, MN, Geraldine Ann Bushee was born July 21, 1927 the daughter of Paul and Leonida (Burton) Bushee. Geraldine married John R. Bach, a World War II veteran, on July 6, 1948 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks. John preceded her in death on May 4, 2000. Gerri moved to Virginia Beach in 2002. She was a resident of Marion Manor for many years. At the time of her death, she resided at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Virginia Beach. She was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks. Her first love was her husband, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, crafting and playing Bingo. She was very active at Marion Manor. She had a beautiful spirit and “a smile that would light up a room.” She will be truly missed. Gerri was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Tim) Marshall, Chesapeake, VA; sons, Greg (Vicki), Bismarck, ND, Steven (Rita), Minneapolis, MN, Randy (Toni), Moorhead, MN and Brian, Lawrence, KS; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and sisters, Marilyn Wald, East Grand Forks, MN and Dorothy Bubendorf, Rochester, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents and her 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
The family requests that memorials be given to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 200 3rd Street NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Friday.
Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
