Mabel E.Emery, 88

Mabel E. Emery, 88, of Arizona and Hawaii, passed away on December 8, 2013 at her home in Hawaii, surrounded by her family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Oiland Lutheran Church of rural Greenbush, Minn., with Pastor Gary Skramstad, officiating.
Inurnment will be in Oiland Cemetery.
Mabel was born on September 10, 1925 in Beulah, Montana, the only child of Edward and Margaret Salmonson.
She married John K. Emery.  They had four children–Janice (Dave) Stenbek of Glendale, AZ;   Carolyn (Bob) Jensen of Anchorage,  Alaska;  Kathy Emery of Pahoa, Hawaii and John Emery Jr. of San Francisco, California. They have eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Mabel was preceded in death by husband John, on March 9, 1998, and daughter Carolyn in 2011.
Mabel and John farmed most of their lives. They moved to Anchorage, AK, in 1966.  Mabel was in the jewelry business for many years, while John worked in the oil industry. They built a home in Hawaii, spending winters there. They also resided winter months in AZ.
Mabel was a member of the Eastern Star and the Sons of Norway.

Instead of flowers, the family will be gathering donations for LifeCare Greenbush Manor Nursing Home.
