John Alfred Lundgren passed away on October 29, 2014 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks after a battle with cancer at the age of 64.
John was born on July 16, 1950 in Ross Township of Roseau County, MN to Martha (Paulson) and Ambrose Lundgren. He grew up in Ross and graduated from Roseau High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1970. He married Karen (Page) on May 15, 1974. He attended Thief River Falls Technical School, then later started his 44 year career at Polaris Industries. He worked as a Senior Safety Technician until his retirement in March of 2014.
John had a passion for fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed cutting wood, camping, and searching for a “good deal.” He will be remembered as a generous person, a hard-work ethic and a Jack of all trades.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Roseau; sons, John (Missy) Lundgren of Roseau and Matt Lundgren of Roseau; granddaughter, Hailey; and siblings, Linda (Marvin) Holter, Russell (Jane) Palm, Gloria (Larry) Borgen, Nancy (Dave) Pallett, Raynard (Marilyn) Lundgren, and Shiela (Skip) Holter; and mother-in-law, Patricia Page. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert and sister, Janet.
Funeral services will be held on 4 PM Monday, November 3rd at Rose Free Lutheran Church west of Roseau. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Interment will be at the Moe-Rose Cemetery.
