for Julienne Sunne, 91

A memorial service for Julienne Sunne of Baudette will be held on Monday, November 10, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Baudette.

Julienne was born on July 17, 1923 in Marshall, MN to Celia (Jackson) and William Denny.  The family moved to Belgrade, MN in 1930 and then to Baudette in 1940 where Julienne attended school and graduated from Baudette High School in 1941.

Julienne was introduced to Roy Sunne by Margit Sunne.  Their first date was to a local dance.  On a visit to CA to visit Roy in the Navy, Julienne and Roy were married.  They were united in marriage in Oakland, CA in 1943.

In 1945, after Roy was discharged from the Navy, the couple moved back to Baudette and made Baudette their home.

Julienne was a simple lady and didn’t require much more than a good day in her garden.  Gardening was her favorite hobby. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, cooking, baking, sewing, canning, and travel.  She traveled to nearly 20 states and into Canada.

Julienne worked for Holte’s Implement, Howard’s Oil Co. and Dr. Janecky.

Julienne Sunne was called to our Lord and Savior’s Heavenly House on October 31.  She passed away at her home in Baudette at the age of 91.

She is survived by her children: Linda (Jeff) Bauers of Baudette, MN and Carolyn (Gary) Lytton of Canton, Georgia; sister Mary Ann Myers of Quincy, MA; grandchildren: Jason (Holly) Bauers, Jodi Bauers, Lisa Lytton, and Kevin (Christine) Lytton; great-grandchildren: Gabby and Griffin Bauers, and Melody and Damien Lytton.

Julienne is preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, and siblings, Orville, Gerald, twin brother Julian, and James Denny.
