Clifford Lloyd Brosdahl, age 92 of Falun Township, Roseau County (Roseau, MN) passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 8, 2014.
Clifford was born in Fork Township of Marshall County on March 5, 1922 to Halvor and Thea
(Heier) Brosdahl. He attended country schools in Marshall and Kittson Counties. He was
confirmed in the First Lutheran Church in Karlstad, MN. He served in the U.S. Army during
WWII from 1944 to 1946, spending most of his time in France and Germany under General
Patton. He and Mildred Krzoska were married at the Eidsvold Church in Halma, MN on
December 16, 1950.
He farmed grain and milk cows northeast of Halma for 18 years. He sold the farm and moved to
Karlstad in 1969. Their daughter, Holly, was born in 1961. He worked at Thompson
Construction and as a carpenter for many years. In 1997, they moved to Falun Township of
Roseau County. Clifford was a member of the Pine Grove Lutheran Church, and a past member of the Lake Bronson American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Roseau; daughter, Holly (Tim) Kalinowski of Lake Bronson,
MN; granddaughter, Christina of St. Paul, MN; grandson, Andrew of Lake Bronson; sister,
Delores Cutt of Minneapolis; and brother, Wendell Brosdahl of Minneapolis. He was preceded
in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence, Arnold, Robert, Ernest, Albert, Baby Boy, Lawrence
and Oliver; and sisters, Myrtle, Edna, Florence, Agnes, Edith and Lyla.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14th at 11 AM at Pine Grove Lutheran Church
south of Roseau. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at
Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Final resting place will be at the Falun Cemetery. Military
Honors by the Roseau Memorial Honor Guard.
