Wallace Glen Larson, 83

Wallace Glen Larson of Lake Bronson, Minnesota passed away on November 8th, at his home at the age of 83 years and 5 months.  Wallace was born on the farm near Lake Bronson on June 12, 1931 to Selma and Peter J. Larson.  He was one of six children.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Delpha Nyflot and Elaine Anderson and two brothers, Ferdy and Tony Larson.  Wallace attended school in Lake Bronson.  In 1951 he began working at Kiene Farms. Wallace entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and served until 1954.  He married Ardell Peterson of Lancaster in 1961.  They farmed and raised cattle until 1978 after which he worked at Spear W Ranch for two years and then for Sobolik Farms. Wallace had a love for country music, a good card game, his cattle, and enjoyed his horses along with the buying and selling of them.  He often talked about the many fun years of teaching his daughter to compete in the horse shows in the area.  Deer season was a favorite time of year for him as he always looked forward to all of his deer hunting buddies to arrive for the hunt, to enjoy all the hunting stories and companionship.  Wallace enjoyed giving sleigh rides through the town of Lake Bronson every Christmas Eve, which he did for many years.  He loved to harness the horses and get the sleigh bells ready for the ride. In 1991 Leona Chwialkowski became Wally’s special friend and companion throughout the rest of his life.
He is survived by Leona, Lake Bronson; a daughter, Vicki (Bruce) Turn, Bemidji, MN;  grandsons, Tyler and Tanner Turn; a sister, Melba Benson, Lake Bronson; nieces and nephews. Retirement found Wallace in failing health but his love for family and friends always came first.
