Dennis Stavig passed away December 9th, 2014 at the age of 53. He was born in Duluth Minnesota on December 23, 1960 to Richard and Myrna (Peterson) Stavig. He grew up in Two Harbors with his seven brothers and sisters.  In 1982 he enlisted in the Army and spent his military service mainly at Ft Benning, GA. After his military service he started a career in construction which brought him through several states and eventually landed him in Lake of the Woods where he met his wife April (Fish). They were married on July 31, 1993 and raised their family in Williams.  He was a carpenter and did remodeling and home construction.  In 2011 he enrolled in Ridgewater College in Hutchinson and began a career in Non-Destructive Testing on nuclear reactors.

Denny was a devoted family man always making sure that his family was protected and cared for, never missing an opportunity to brag about his daughters’ accomplishments. He was very engaging when it came to family activities from sporting events to camping, he was always at the center with something to say that would put a smile on your face. Denny also enjoyed engaging with people in his community, often socializing over coffee or a beer at the local municipal.  He had a good sense of humor, often cracking jokes and getting a rise out of anyone he could. He was a selfless man, constantly helping others in whatever they needed. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, berry picking, traveling, fixing cars, animals, and finding hole in the wall diners with the best food.
