Arline Carolyn Knutson, age 83 of Williams, MN passed away on January 13, 2015 at the Warroad Senior Living Center where she has resided the last four years.
Arline was born on July 12, 1931 in Montevideo, MN to Beulah (Grochow) and Oscar Olson. She grew up in Montevideo before moving with her family to Williams, MN in the 9th grade. She graduated from Williams High School in 1949. She and Wally Knutson were married on February 9, 1952. Arline stayed at home and to raise her children, then worked as a cook at various restaurants in the area and at the Senior Center. She taught piano lessons in the summers for many years, and babysat many of the area children. She was very active in Bethany Lutheran Church as Sunday School Superintendent and in Ladies Aide.
She was a member of the bowling league for many years and loved knitting, sewing, crocheting, crafts, cooking, baking and picking blueberries. She will be remembered as a good-hearted person who never complained.
She is survived by her children, Kurt (Della) Knutson of Warroad, Lori (Norman) Olson of Duluth, Pamela (Tim) Cook of Elk River, MN, Karla Briss of Plummer, MN, Kelly (Eric) Arndt of Grand Forks, ND and Angela Knutson of Pensacola, FL; 32 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Olson of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wally; sons, Kim and Rick; one brother; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 3 PM at Bethany Lutheran Church in Williams. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Interment will be at the Pine Hill Cemetery at a later date.
