Donald Edward Hasbargen, 83, of Cottage Grove, OR passed away on February 16, 2015. He was born April 3, 1931 in Menahga, Minnesota to Herman and Mayme (Arola) Hasbargen.
Donald received an Honorary High School diploma from Elkton High School in 2014. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Gladys Starbuck on February 26, 1954 in Roseburg, OR.
Donald was a farmer in Roseburg, Burns, Newberg, OR and Tri-Cities, WA. He was a mechanic at Umapine Chemical in Washington for 6 years and a logger in Southern Oregon. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, classical music, playing the guitar, and especially loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Old-Time Fiddlers Association.
He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Gladys Hasbargen, Cottage Grove, OR; daughter, Susan Roland (Ty), Yoncalla, OR; daughter, Judith Kleman (Terry), Ft. Jennings, OH; daughter, Linda Hering (Tom), Grafton, WI; son, Mike Hasbargen, Dundee, OR; son, Les Hasbargen (Laura Gattoni), Morris, NY; sister, Mavis Buck, Kennewick, WA; sister, Clara Starbuck, Kennewick, WA; brother, Gordon Hasbargen, W. Richmond, WA; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 675 S. 7th St., Cottage Grove, OR. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Preschool.
