Leonard S. Kouba, age 87 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN.
Leonard Stanley Kouba was born on May 11, 1927 in Grafton, ND, the son of William and Albina (Greicar) Kouba. Leonard grew up in Pisek, ND area and attended school in Conway, ND. He farmed in the Conway area and Walsh County area near Minto, ND. He joined the United States Army. He married Violet Kowalski on November 15, 1950. Following his discharge from the Army, he moved back to Grafton, ND where he was a mechanic until 1968. They lived in Grafton and Grand Forks until her death on February 28, 1993. He co-owned Modern Auto Body in Grand Forks until retiring in 1984. On May 12, 1995 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Bullinger where they resided in East Grand Forks, MN until her death on November 4, 2013.
Family members who survive Leonard include his children, Linda (Dan) Eilers of Boise, ID, Larry (Terry) Kouba of East Grand Forks, MN, Sharon (Dan) Walker of Grand Forks, ND, Darlene (Dennis) Barton of Jamestown, ND, Dwight (Cindi) Kouba of Grand Forks, ND and Reed (Randi) Kouba of Grand Forks, ND; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Duane Kouba of Savage, MN and Ernie (Corrine) Kouba of Towner, ND.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Altru Hospice.
