Rodney Allen Pomplun, 68

Rodney Allen Pomplun passed away peacefully on March 5, 2015 at his home near Warroad at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Rod was born on December 3rd, 1946 in Grand Forks, ND to Laverne (Stadstad) and Roy Pomplun. He grew up in Greenbush, MN. Rod was confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1964. Following graduation he entered the US Navy. He moved to Warroad and worked at Conoco Station with his father and later he started at Marvin Windows and worked there for 36 years.
Rod enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, four-wheeling and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his fun loving personality, contagious laugh, hard work ethic, and his famous saying “I tell you what”!
He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Alice of Warroad; children, Jason (Anita) Pomplun of Proctor, Kara (Jeff) Johnston of Warroad, Shaun (Alese) Pomplun of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Abigail, Jade, Madison, Camryn, Taelyn, and Felix; step children, Amy (Troy) Kupser, Jeanne Johnson, Jason (Nicole) Eichenberger, Kim Eichenberger and Jeremy Eichenberger; step-grandchildren, Jessica, Brianna, Ashlee, Rudy, Anthony, Grace, Pauline and Axl; brothers, Bill (Jan) Pomplun, Doug (Gloria) Pomplun, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Pomplun; aunt, Shirley (Bob) Sullivan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy (Laverne) Pomplun and brothers, Paul and Leon; aunt, Delores (Chet) Menckel.
Funeral Service for Rodney were held on Monday, March 9, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation was on Sunday at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Warroad from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.  Visitation continued for one hour prior to the service on Monday at Zion Lutheran Church.
