Vivian Dvergsten, 76

Vivian Dvergsten, 76, of Greenbush, MN, died Monday, April 20, 2015 in Oakland Park Communities Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN.
Vivian Dvergsten was born Vivian Gladys Wilson, the daughter of William John and Vergie Rosella (Gunderson) Wilson on February 19, 1939 at Greenbush, MN.  She grew up and attended school in Greenbush and graduated from Greenbush High School, Class of 1957.  She worked as a nursing assistant at the Greenbush Hospital. 
Vivian married Donald Dvergsten on July 25, 1959 at Greenbush.  They farmed for many years south of Greenbush until retiring in January of 2005. Don Dvergsten died on January 1, 2008.
Vivian was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.  She was a hard working farm wife, working with the pigs and turkeys. Her hobbies were making foam refrigerator decorations, sweatshirts, necklaces, earrings and scarves, and countless hours of embroidering towels and beautiful quilt tops, baking & cooking for a crowd.   Highlights, other than spending time with family, include several trips to Vegas and a trip to Hawaii in 1973.  Also included were countless snowmobile trips, bingo and card playing with her gal pals, music & jam sessions, gardening and baking caramel rolls for “grandma day” each week for the grandkids. 
She is survived by two sons—Denny, and wife Lisa Dvergsten and Kurt, and wife Karen Dvergsten, all of Greenbush.
6 grandchildren—Darrin (Lynsey) Dvergsten, Alyssa Dvergsten (fiancée Kelly Eppers), Jessica Dvergsten, Danica (Joe) Marana, Vanessa and Logan Dvergsten.
2 great-grandchildren—Addison & Lauren Dvergsten.
4 brothers—Weldon (Corinne) Wilson of St. Cloud, MN,  Ronald (George) Wilson of Plover, WI,  Gary (Vickie) Wilson of Roseau, MN & Ward (Dawn) Wilson of Greenbush, MN.  1 sister—Arlene (Wallace) Olson of Wautoma, WI,1 Sister-in-law—Helen Wilson of Thief River Falls, MN.
3 brothers-in-law—Manvil (Beatrice) Dvergsten, Arvid (Lois) Dvergsten and Gerald (Florence) Dvergsten, all of Greenbush,  1 sister-in-law—Ardith Dvergsten of Kansas City, MO, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son—Wayne in 1965, niece & nephews, Jodi & Kenny Wilson, Darwin Dvergsten, brother-in-law—Delbert Dvergsten and brother—Allan Wilson.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 3 PM in Bethel Lutheran Church of Greenbush with Pastor Mark Mathews, officiating. Music was by Natalie Korczak, Arlene Jenson & Howard Hodne.  Readers were Roger Green & Lynsey Dvergsten.  Pallbearers were Vivian’s grandchildren: Darrin, Alyssa, Jessica, Vanessa & Logan Dvergsten & Danica Marana.  Honorary Pallbearers were her great-grandchildren, Addison & Lauren Dvergsten; her godchildren, Greg Dvergsten, Sandy Reidel & Roger Green  and  her card playing friends.
Burial was in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery of Greenbush.  Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush.
