Ardyce Levenhagen, 78

Ardyce Levenhagen, 78, of Lake Bronson, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, Minnesota on Wednesday morning, May 5th, 2015. Ardyce Mae Peterson was born May 16, 1936 to Hilmer and Esther (Martinson) Peterson in Norway Township of Kittson County, Minnesota. She attended Lake Bronson High School, graduating in 1954. On November 6, 1954 whe was united in marriage to Charles Levenhagen at Lake Bronson. They settled in Percy Township of Kittson County and farmed there until their retirement in 1998. In 2001 they moved into Lake Bronson. Ardyce was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Ardyce had an open door policy for her family and friends, careing, cooking and entertaining for them. She liked to throw parties and was always looking for occasion to organize a hay ride, corn feed or celebrate her favorite holidays, Christmas and the 4th of July. Ardyce enjoyed cooking and prepared a variety of wild game, picked morel mushrooms, made doughnuts and baked pans of buns. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and the time she spent in the outdoors. She canned from her large garden and kept her family well supplied. It should also be mentioned that Ardyce worked briefly at the Coffee Cup Cafe in Lake Bronson. Ardyce was so very proud of her children and grandchildren and felt blessed to have them.
Ardyce is survived by her son, Richard (Kathy) Levenhagen, Lake Bronson; daughters, Evonne (Alan) Taylor, Tecumseh, MI and Arnita (Kevin) Braget, Lake Bronson; grandchildren, Steve, Ellie, Kyle, Anna, Christy, Charles Dylan, Jami, Michael, Mitchell and Austin; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Dorr, Erskine, MN and Lois (Herb) Johanneck, Red Lake Fall, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles who passed away October 16, 2004; brothers, Dennis, Lowell, Ron and infant siblings.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Lake Bronson. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Rev. Marge Landwehr, presiding; Corienne Jacobson, organist; Lyndon Johnson and Roger Anderson, soloists. Casket bearers will be Ardyce’s grandchildren. Austin Funeral Chapel in Hallock is in charge of arrangements.
