Lawrence W. Rudh, 70

Lawrence W. (Nickname “Lawr) Rudh passed away peacefully at Altru Hospital on July 3, 2015. He was 70 years old.
Lawrence was born in Grand Forks on August 22, 1944 to Lawrence A and Alice
(Fox) Rudh. He grew up in Grand Forks, attending Central High School, graduating with the Class of 1962 and attended UND. He worked as a salesman
at the family furniture store Rudh Brothers Furniture in East Grand Forks. He married Martha Cosgriff on November 25, 1983 and they later divorced. They had three children. He married Rebecca Anderson in 1996, they later divorced but they remained friends.
“Lawr” was an avid golfer once winning the Grand Forks Country Club Championship. He loved playing at the Pine to Palm Golf Course in Detroit Lakes and played in their annual tournament for many years. He spent many summers on Lake Melissa near his family. He also enjoyed traveling, music, sports of all kinds, and was an avid Fighting Sioux hockey fan. He kept up on all current events, and enjoyed many political discussions with his quick mind and attention to detail. It was hard to win a political debate with him as he had all the facts and figures at his fingertips. He always had a dog at his side and was very kind hearted love toward all animals. Lawr had many blessings in his life, but also many challenges and his journey was sometimes quite difficult. He has found peace from all of his sorrows now.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest F and Alice C Fox, William and Louise Rudh; his parents Lawrence Sr. and Alice Rudh, one Son, Nicholas C. Rudh who passed away in 2014. He is survived by his Daughter, Alexandra “Lexi” Rudh, two grandchildren, Olivia May and Zoey Faith Rudh McGillis all of Grand Forks.. He is also survived by a son Ryan Mitchell, Missoula, Montana and a sister, Sue Rudh Riley of Detroit Lakes. He will be missed by his loving dog and companion “Dakota”.
Memorial Services will be at 2pm on Thursday, August 13, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND 58201.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment: Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Grand Forks Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
