James “Jim” Enger, 70, of Crookston, MN formerly of Grand Forks, ND died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, ND
Jim was born on July 4, 1945 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Henry and Marcella (Mayer) Enger. He attended school in New Liepzig, ND. He entered the US Army in 1962. He was united in marriage to Karen Torgerson in Hibbing, MN in 1966. He worked for Hannah Mining Co. in Hibbing, MN and Ford Taconite in Forbes, MN. He married Debra Skari in 1980. He worked for many years at Schumacher Tire and Wonzak Construction in Grand Forks.
He is survived by his mother Marcella Frandsen of Grand Forks; children, Julie Enger of Hibbing, MN, Jennifer (Hamad) Almarri of Qatar, Jeremy (Helen Cleveland) Enger of Grand Forks and Gina (Nick) Gaines-Olmande of Oxnard, CA; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; special friend Mary Solberg of Crookston, MN; siblings, Alice Lund of Grand Forks, Joe (Wanda) Enger of Helena, Montana, Duane (Joan) of Ft. Shaw, Montana, Allan (Connie Halverson) Enger of Roseau, MN, step-sister Helen (Melvin Casteel) Enger of Columbia, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, brother Dick and nephew Jason Enger.
Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Dahl Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: 1 hour before services at the chapel.
