Ralph Twamley, 76, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, North Dakota on Friday, November 6, 2015. Ralph Alvin Twamley was born October 2, 1939 at St. Vincent, Minnesota to Merlin and Lucille (Flanders) Twamley. He grew up at St. Vincent, Minnesota and attended the Joe River country school. Ralph went on to attend the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston. As a young man, Ralph worked as a logger in Kettle Falls, Minnesota before beginning a 42 year career in construction as an owner operator. Ralph operated heavy equipment and from 1973 to 1978 ran a trucking company. On October 6, 1973 he was united in marriage to Ann Wilkinson at Emerson, Manitoba. They lived in St. Vincent until 1976 when they moved to their present home. Ralph was a member of the Kern-Thompson American Legion Post for 45 years. He was also a 30 year member of the Hallock Eagles Club. Ralph enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to his cabin, fishing and family fish fries.
Family members include his wife, Ann; daughters, Rox-Ann (Dale) Crawford, Williams, MN and Grace (Tom) Delling, Williston, ND; sons, Brian (Becky) Twamley, Brainerd, MN, Blayne (Christine) Twamley, Drayton, Kyle (Sara) Twamley, Drayton; eight grandchildren, Greg, Eric, Melissa, Steven, Erin, Morgan, Katelyn and Joshua; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Matsen, Holden and Rylan; brothers, Rodney, Parachute, CO, Teddy, Curlew, WA, Dan (Bette) St. Vincent, and Tommy (Barb) Buxton, ND; sisters, Margie (Jim) Oram, Lake Havasu, AZ, Clara (Floyd) Franklin, Dalhart, TX, Cheryl (Michael) Heddan, Osakis, MN, Linda (Stephen) Bozich, Apple Valley, CA and Cindy (Jerry) Ritteman, Lakota, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Merlin and Ivan and sister, Marian.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14th at the Humboldt Methodist Church, Humboldt, MN. Interment will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, St. Vincent, Minnesota. Visitation will be at the church Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Gary Johnson, presiding; Bob Bockwitz, organist; Faye Potrament, soloist. Special music at the visitation provided by the Popple Ridge Pickers. Casket bearers will be Lee Westling, Eddie Olson, Ken Norby, Wayne Chale, David Amann and Jim Walsh.
