Wayne C. Jevning, 76

Wayne C. Jevning, 76, of Baudette, Minnesota passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota on Saturday, November 28th, 2015. Wayne was born at Hallock, Minnesota April 7, 1939 to Olaf and Evelyn (Peterson) Jevning. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Wayne was a 1958 graduate of Hallock High School and played on the Hallock Bears hockey team  in the State Tournament. He served with the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961 and was stationed at the  Panama Canal. On October 18, 1964 he was united in marriage to Judy Soltis. Together they had three children, Brian, Michael and Marsha.  Wayne worked in the Pilot Plant at General Mills in Golden Valley for 30 years, retiring in 1999 and moving to the Lake of the Woods area. He loved golf, music and traveled  with his longtime companion, Lois Olson,  to Mission, Texas during the winter months.
    
Family members include sons, Brian, Brooklyn Center, MN and Michael (Tracy), Waseca, MN; a daughter, Marcha (Matt) Cichos; Waseca; grandchildren, Taryn, Taylor, Jonah and Jacklynn Jevning, Jacob, Kylee and Teagan Cichos; companion, Lois Olson, Baudette; brothers, Jerry (Suzie) Jevning, Warren, MN, and Allan (Laura) Jevning also of Warren; sisters, Dian (John) Reich, Henderson, NV and Cathy (Richard) Johnson, Kennedy, MN; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Loyce Hoglin, Erlyce Blomquist and Shirley Petersburg; and brothers, Lowell and James.
    
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock.  Visitation will held at the church for one hour prior to the service.  A flag presentation will be made by Veteran’s Administration Officer, Robert Cameron. Rev. Frank Johnson, presiding. Special music will be provided by the Jevning Family; Jacki Przekwas, pianist. Honorary casket bearers will be family and friends.
