Carol C. Hanson, 80, of Badger, Minn., died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, in LifeCare Greenbush Manor at Greenbush, Minn.
Carol Hanson was born Carol Christine Blazek to parents Henry Lawrence and Lyla Agnes (Wickstrom) Blazek, on October 18, 1935, at Grandma Wickstrom’s home at Badger, Minn. She attended school at Greenbush and graduated from Greenbush High School, Class of 1953. She married Dale Hanson of Badger on April 2, 1956, in Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis and moved to Badger in 1970. Dale died on December 31, 1998.
Carol did restaurant work for several years and worked at Polaris for 12 years before retirement. She enjoyed cooking and baking, keeping a spotless house, gardening and yard work, and feeding and watering the birds.
She is survived by 1 son—Tim (Marlene) Hanson of Badger, 2 daughters—Pam (Allan) Monsrud and Nicole (Chuck) Wilt, all of Badger.
8 grandchildren—Shanon (Angela) Monsrud, Garett (Barb) Monsrud, Danny (Trina) Hanson, Chrissy Hanson (fiancé Brad Inglis), Marcus (Amber) Thompson, Andrea Thompson, Hannah and Amelia Wilt.
12 great-grandchildren—Olivia, Isabella, Elijah, Ezra, Deegan, Rogan, Bryce, Bethany, Roger, Maizy, Tobias & Aiden.
1 brother—Don (Phyllis) Blazek of Middle River, Minn.
3 sisters—Marion Dale of Tower, Minn., Phyllis (Lyle) Ellenson of Badger and Janet (Keith) Burkel of Greenbush. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, 1 son—Roger Allen Hanson, parents, Henry and Lyla Blazek, parents-in-law—Henry and Ivadelle Hanson, sister and brother-in-law—Lois and Darwin Johnson and brother—Henry Dale Blazek.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Badger with Father John Kleinwachter, officiating. Sara Carpenter was the organist and song leader. Special vocal music was provided by Melanie Sorlien. Pallbearers were Carol’s eight grandchildren and Honorary Pallbearers were her twelve great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the Badger City Cemetery with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush in charge of arrangements.
