Sharon “Bonnie” Carlson, 73

Sharon “Bonnie” Carlson, 73, of Badger, Minn., died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, in LifeCare Medical Center at Roseau, Minn.
Bonnie Carlson was born Sharon Bonnie Carlson, the daughter of Oscar Wilhelm and Alice Olietta (Thompson) Carlson, on March 27, 1942, in Roseau, Minn.  She grew up and attended school in Badger, Minn., graduating from Badger High School, Class of 1961. 
Bonnie started working for Gunda Haugen when she was 15 years old.  After graduation she moved to the Twin Cities where she worked as a Nanny until 1970.  She then moved to Thief River Falls and worked in the housekeeping department at the hospital for 26 years.  She taught Sunday School in Thief River Falls.
Bonnie dedicated the last 20 years to taking care of Robert’s children and more recently her brother, Mike. In 1996 she became the official legal caretaker of her nephew, Justin Carlson.
   Bonnie had been a member of Badger Creek Lutheran Church since 1996. She loved animals, especially cats.  She enjoyed flowers, reading, doing crafts and sewing.  She loved her nieces and nephews.
   Bonnie is survived by two brothers—Michael Carlson and Roy (Laureen) Carlson, of Badger.   One sister—Connie (Robert) Bosc of Everett, Wash.  Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
   She was preceded in death by her parents—Oscar and Alice Carlson, brothers—Floyd and Robert Carlson, and sister-in-law—Janette Carlson.  One sister—Frances Laidley and brother-in-law—Duane Laidley.
     Funeral Service were held on Saturday, January 30, in Badger Creek Lutheran Church of Badger with Pastor David Nelson officiating.  Sarah Nelson was the pianist and Heather Carlson was the vocalist.
Pallbearers were Matt and Joshua Carlson, Mark, Brad, and Kent Laidley, and Ray Corbet.  Honorary pallbearers were Justin,  Tom, and Jeremy Carlson, Kevin Laidley, and Michael Bosc.
    Interment will take place in the Badger Creek Cemetery in Badger in the springtime.
Arrangements were with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush, Minn.
