Donald Burkett Nordine, 66
Donald Burkett Nordine passed away at his home in Graceton, MN on March 25, 2016 at the age of 66.
Don was born on October 18, 1949 in Baudette, MN to Lawrence and Peggy (Dollarhide) Nordine. He graduated from Williams High School in 1967. He served for a short time in the U.S. Marine Corps. When he was young, Donald worked in the woods with his Grandpa. He lived and worked out west in Oregon, before moving back to Graceton, MN in 1990. He worked at local resorts for many years and at Marvin Windows and Doors for nearly 10 years until his recent retirement. Don was well known as a “handyman” in the area and was always willing to help others.
Don enjoyed anything to do with horses. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and rodeos; but his passion was tending to his horses. He would enjoy his many visits with his neighbors, family and friends.
He is survived by his siblings, Natalie Carlson of Minneapolis, Pete Nordine of Grand Rapids, MN, Sugar Carlson of Williams, MN, and Marty Rich of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11 AM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Baudette with Deacon Jim Lukenbill officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
