Kathryn M. Bakke, age 80 of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Valley Memorial Homes in Grand Forks, ND.
Kathryn M. Bakke was born on June 22, 1935 in Burke County, ND the daughter of Ewald and Esther (Joos) Klitzke. She grew up in Portal, ND and attended school at Lignite High School, graduating with the Class of 1954. On September 19, 1954 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Bakke in Lignite, ND. Following their marriage they moved to Minot, ND before moving to Grand Forks in 1967. Kathryn worked at St. Anne’s Guest Home, American Legion and the University of North Dakota before retiring in 1998.
Family members of Kathryn include her children, Kaye (Carl) Anderson of Proctor, MN, Larry (Lori) Bakke of Grand Forks, ND and Brenda (Scott) Brown of Morganfield, KY; twelve grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Bakke; siblings, Calvin Klitzke, George Klitzke, Marjorie Eggers, Delores Devina and Helen Nygaard.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: One Hour Prior Funeral Service on Wednesday in Dahl Funeral Home.
Interment: Memorial Park South Cemetery ~ Grand Forks, ND.
