Glen Leroy Krenz, the son of the late Clarence and Pansy (Woodard) Krenz, was born on July 7, 1927, at Frazee, MN. He attended school and grew to manhood at Park Rapids, MN, and served with the U.S. Navy from August of 1944 until discharge in July of 1946, and served in the Pacific during WWII On August 21, 1949, Glen was united in marriage to Darlene Peabody at Park Rapids and the couple lived there for five years prior to moving to moving to Thief River Falls, MN. Glen sold AAA car insurance for most of his life. He was a champion wrestler while in service. He loved to hunt and fish and excelled at pool. He was an avid golfer and even had a hole-in-one on the Thief River Falls course. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls until the couple moved to Karlstad in 2010. Darlene passed away June 24, 2014, and Glen continued to live at the Meadows Assisted Living Center in Karlstad. He passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 18 days.
He is survived by one daughter: Kay (Paul) Bostrom, of Karlstad; two grandchildren: Brock Bostrom, of Lake Bronson, Minnesota and Farrah (Paul) Billing, of Enderlin, North Dakota; four great-grandchildren: Dalton, Perry, Amethyst and Ella; brother-in-law: Richard (Mary Ann) Krenz, of Winchester, Wisconsin; in addition to several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
