Mildred “Millie” Knutson, 95

Mildred “Millie” Knutson, age 95 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 at Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND.

Mildred “Millie” May Knutson was born on January 8, 1921 in Holdingford, MN the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Voronyak) Kmecik of Tabor, MN.  She was baptized and confirmed at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Tabor, MN.  She attended school in the Tabor District in Polk County, MN.  Millie married Howard Knutson in East Grand Forks on April 12, 1944.  They lived on a farm in Huntsville Township in East Grand Forks.  They moved to East Grand Forks on Greenwood Drive in 1958.  They moved to Heritage Good Samaritan Apartments in East Grand Forks on October 1, 2003.  Millie worked as a waitress at Frank’s Café part time for 6 years and at the Westward Ho (Chuck House) for 14 years and also doing banquets.  She loved her job.  She was a member of Bygland Lutheran Church and Women’s organizations.  Also a Charter Member of the East Grand Forks Blue Line Club.  She loved attending their son’s hockey games and later the Grandson’s games and Granddaughters Figure Skating and Soccer games in Moorhead.  Howard passed away on July 5, 2004.  In September of 2004 she moved to Tufte Manor and in August of 2005 she moved to Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND

Family members who survive Millie include her two sons, Dennis (Patsy) Knutson of Park Rapids, MN and Curtis (Denise) Knutson of East Grand Forks, MN; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard Knutson; brother, Elmer Kmecik; sister, Elsie Anderson; and son, Kenneth Knutson

Funeral Service:  11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in Bygland Lutheran Church, rural East Grand Forks, MN

Visitation:  One Hour Prior Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in Bygland Lutheran Church.

Interment:  Bygland Lutheran Church Cemetery
