Rhea C. Larson, age 89 of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2016 at her home with her loving husband of 65 years by her side.
Rhea Catherine Larson was born on June 19, 1926 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Bernard and Hazel Ray. Rhea grew up in Thompson, ND where she graduated from high school with the Class of 1944. She then studied at Aakers Business College in Grand Forks, after which, along with her sister Dorothy, as Ralph might say, she went to work for J. Edgar Hover (The FBI) in Washington DC. But she missed home, and after a year moved back to Thompson. She then went to work at a bank in Grand Forks, which was where she met Ralph. After she met him again at the States Ballroom, as Ralph might say, “The Rest is History”.
Ralph and Rhea farmed north of East Grand Forks, and lived on the farm until 2012, when they moved into the Good Samaritan Village in East Grand Forks.
Loving family members of Rhea include her husband Ralph of East Grand Forks, MN; children, Dean Larson, Dan Larson and Rhonda Larson all of East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren, Callie Larson, Bryce Larson of East Grand Forks, MN, Tiffany Larson of NM and Blake Larson of Grand Forks, ND , along with one great-grandchild, Kenley Larson ; brothers, Darrell Ray of Minneapolis, MN, Kenny Ray of CA, sisters, Dorothy Fields of Minneapolis, MN, Betty Useldinger of East Grand Forks, MN and Darlene Mykelby of IN along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Rhea is preceded in death by her parents; brother Roy James who died in childhood and brother Ron Ray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Friday, May 27, 2016 in Bethany Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks, MN
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN and also one hour prior Memorial Service on Friday in Bethany Lutheran Church
Interment: Bethany North Lutheran Cemetery ~ East Grand Forks, MN
