Margaret Christine Hard, 101, of Park Rapids, MN passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Park Rapids, MN.
Margaret Christine Tauer was born on August 21, 1914 in Amery, Wisconsin the daughter of Rhinehart and Selma (Lundgren) Tauer. In 1918 the family moved to Baudette, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school graduating in 1932. After graduation she went to nurses training at St. Lukes Hospital in St. Paul, MN graduating in 1936. She worked as a registered nurse for many years.
On April 25, 1939 she married Alfred W. Hard and they made their home on a farm outside of Baudette. They had one son, Amos M. Alfred passed away March 1975. Margaret continued to live on the farm until 1980 when the property was sold to build the new International Airport. To be near her son she moved to Northfield, MN and in 2001 she moved to Park Rapids, MN where she resided at the Summerfield Place.
She enjoyed gardening, walking, fishing, traveling and playing cards.
Margaret is survived by her son Amos (Joan) Hard of Akeley; grandson—Trent (Sheri) Hard of Warroad, MN; granddaughter—Cari (Paul) Bullemer of Long Lake, MN; great grandchildren— Matthew and Samuel Hard of Warroad, MN; Oliver and Lucile Bullemer of Long lake, MN; niece—Gayle (Evalt) Laine of Chaska, MN and nephew—Rod (Ann) Tauer of Hugo, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother—Clifford “Bus” and her husband Alfred.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Baudette Congregational Church, Baudette, MN. Pastor John Tschudy will be Officiating. Inurnment will be at the Elm Park Cemetery in Baudette, MN.
