John M. Cash, 79, of Bemidji, MN formerly of East Grand Forks, MN died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at his home in Bemidji, MN.
John Millard Cash was born on April 23, 1937 in Crookston, MN, the son of Andrew and Amelia (Schroeder) Cash. John grew up in East Grand Forks and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School. He then attended the University of North Dakota where he played Football. On June 8, 1957 he was united in marriage to Nellie Baker in East Grand Forks. John worked for Northern Pacific/Burlington Northern Railroad in East Grand Forks and retired in 1990. He also owned and operated Cash Valley Honey from 1974 to 1985. They moved to Cass Lake then to Bemidji, MN and wintered in Texas where he enjoyed retirement and their grandchildren.
Family members of John include his wife Nellie of Bemidji, MN; children, Heidi Cash of East Grand Forks, MN, Donald (Bonita) Cash of East Grand Forks, Wally (Robin) Cash of East Grand Forks and Tim (Audrey) Cash of Bemidji, MN; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Duane Cash of Puyallup, WA and Robert Bartuska of Tacoma, WA.
John is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Naomi Cash and step-father Elmer Bartuska.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, July 8, 2016 in Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 with a 6:30PM Prayer Service on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, 528 10th St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN and also one hour prior Funeral Service on Friday in the church
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery ~ East Grand Forks, MN
