Rosalind “Rosie” M. Myerchin, age 87, of Crookston, MN, formally of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Monday, August 1st, 2016 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston.
Rosalind “Rosie” Margaret Myerchin was born on February 28, 1929 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Renner) Jorgenson. Rosie grew up in Grand Forks and attended St. Michael’s Elementary School and graduated from St. James High School with the Class of 1947. Following her high school graduating, she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone as a Long Distance Telephone Operator. On August 19, 1950 she was united in marriage to Ernest “Ernie” Myerchin at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. In 1963, Rosie began employment with Sacred Heart School in East Grand Forks and ending her career there in 1984. Rosie also worked at “The Store” in East Grand Forks. Following retirement she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.
Loving family members who survive Rosie include her children, Richard (Cindy) Myerchin of Grand Forks, ND, Joel Myerchin of East Grand Forks, MN and Julie (Michael) Marek of East Grand Forks, MN; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Sister Dorothy Jorgenson of St. Paul, MN, Joseph (Elaine) Jorgenson of Kenowick, WA and Lucille (Thorlough) Meier of Bloomer, WI.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Myerchin; son, David Myerchin and one brother Raymond Jorgenson.
The family would like to thank the awesome staff of the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston for their wonderful care during Rosie’s stay.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: 5-7 PM with a 6:30 Prayer Service at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, MN.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
