Thomas Albert Boushey, 82 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18th, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks surrounded by his family after a brief illness from lung cancer.
Tom was born on November 22, 1933, the son of Albert and Zerine “Honey” (Chandler) Boushey on the family farm on the Point in East Grand Forks, MN, where he and his wife Joy pulled the plow for 63 years, and together raised 5 successful children. Tom met Joy Marie Haugen in Mekinock, ND and they were united in marriage on December 27, 1952 in East Grand Forks, MN. Tom enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He loved having children around and teaching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren about gardening. Tom was the 2nd generation owner of A& L Potato Company, which continues with the 4th generation of family in East Grand Forks, MN.
He is survived by his wife Joy of East Grand Forks, MN, children, Charles (Shirley) Boushey, Linda (Gene) Skarsten, Randall (Bonnie) Boushey all of East Grand Forks, MN, Joseph (Wendy) Boushey of Fargo, ND, Julie (Brent) Lindsey of Columbus, OH; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren along with 1 brother Gerald Boushey of Halstad, MN; sisters-in-law, Terry Boushey and Kay Kennedy. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Honey Boushey; brother, Eugene and Betty Boushey.
