Tri-County School makes top 500 list
Tri-County School was recently recognized by Newsweek magazine as one of the top 500 high schools in America. Tri-County was honored to be selected as 315th in the nation in the category “Beating the Odds” which honors high schools that do outstanding work despite many students and families facing significant financial obstacles which can often be a barrier to educational achievement. With over 26,000 public secondary schools in America, this is a significant achievement.
TCS was selected based on a number of factors. Westat, a private research firm hired to identify the best schools in America, selected schools that did exceedingly well in performance metrics as categorized by the US Department of Education. They also examined free/reduced lunch rates. Over 4700 schools across the nation made the short list and were identified for further study.
