Williams City Council member Shirley Turpin dies

Shirley Turpin, 82, Williams City Council member and the city’s Vice Mayor, died Monday, September 5 after a brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer.

Turpin moved to Williams in 2010 and was elected to the Williams City Council in 2012. She was re-elected to the position in 2014, and was also appointed to serve as Vice Mayor during her tenure on the council
