Applications for the 2016—2017 Energy Assistance Program are being taken by Northwest Community Action. If you feel you may be eligible, either write to Northwest Community Action, Inc./PO Box 67/Badger, MN 56714, or phone (218) 528-3258 or 1-800-568-5329 and an application will be mailed to you. Visit our website: www.northwestcap.org Households may apply once during our program year of October 1, 2016 – May 31, 2017.

 

Energy Assistance eligibility is based upon household income and household size. Both homeowners and renters may be eligible. Households who live in subsidized housing but pay either heat or electric costs may also qualify.   Subsidized housing residents who have both heat and electric costs included in their rent do not qualify for energy assistance.

 

The eligibility guidelines for 3 month’s gross income are listed below:

Northwest Community Action serves households located in Kittson, Lake of the Woods, East Marshall, and Roseau Counties. Home visits available for homebound applicants, upon request. Households requesting assistance in completing the application are encouraged to phone our office to set up an appointment.

 

NOTICE: You are responsible for your heating and electric bills until you hear from Northwest Community Action.
