Earl Roy Lane, age 90, of Thompson, ND, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.
Earl was born on January 28, 1927, in Thompson, ND, the son of the late Asa and Mable (Barr) Lane. He grew up and attended school in Thompson and afterward served his country in the US Army. He then worked for Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railroads for 40 years until his retirement in 1990. On July 17, 1965, he was united in marriage to Deanna Hoeger in Crookston, MN, and the family made their home back in Thompson.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Deanna Lane of Thompson, ND; children, David (Robin) Lane of Alexandria, MN; Linda Lane of Olivehurst, CA; Susan (Kenny) Satra of Sydney, MT; Nancy (Edward) McKay of Thompson, ND; Nadean (Don) Hickman of El Paso, TX; Rhonda (Jeff) Blake of Baker City, OR; and William “Bill” (Janel) Lane of Syracuse, UT; 19 grandchildren; 27great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Mable; brothers, George, John, Myron, and Louis; and sisters, Dorothy, Lillian, Vera, Alice, and Dora.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

Interment: Memorial Park South Cemetery ~ Grand Forks, ND in the spring
