Special training for area emergency personnel on emergencies involving children was held last Saturday, February 25, at Tri-County School in Karlstad.
Taking part in the classes were 34 participants from five area emergency agencies: Alvarado, Warren, Stephen/Argyle, Hallock, and Tri-County EMS (Middle River, Newfolden, Karlstad).
Training was provided through the MN Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program. Saturday’s training was taught by instructors from Children’s Minnesota (formerly Children’s Hospital): James Levi, ER and Trauma Outreach Liaison; Jen Olsen, Patient Care Supervisor; Dr. Paula Kocken, MN EMSC Medical Director and ED Staff Physician (PEM Physician Children’s MN); and Pat Granger, Staff RN.
