Two Gators earn state hardware

Three Gators, Owen Novacek (138), Dominik Vacura (195), and Devin Pries (285) made the six plus hour journey to St. Paul to meet up with Minnesota’s best high school wrestlers at the state tournament from the Xcel Energy Center, March 2-4. After each wrestling six matches, Vacura and Pries both stood atop the podium in their respective weight classes with state medals around their necks, Vacura finished fifth and Pries fourth—the first time the Gators have brought home multiple individual state medals since 2012.
