Lorraine A.  Jeffrey, 93, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2017 in Villa St. Vincent Care Center, Crookston, MN.

Lorraine Arlet Pederson was born in rural Oslo, MN the daughter of Peder and Lena (Nelson) Pederson on August 6, 1923. She married Ardell L. Jeffrey on November 2, 1943 in East Grand Forks. They farmed in rural East Grand Forks until retiring in 1979. Ardell preceded her in death on July 6, 1984.

Lorraine cherished her family and established many family traditions when her loved ones gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and the Fourth of July. She enjoyed playing bridge, smear, sewing club, making quilts and family time at Maple Lake.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Melody (James) Nord, Grand Forks, ND, Carol (Bob) Geddes, East Grand Forks, MN, Lonnie (Jackie), Grand Forks, ND, Lanna (Dick) Piker, Mentor, MN, Steven (Heather), Big Lake, MN; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; sister, Jeanette South, Long Beach, WA; daughter-in-law, Jean Jeffrey, East Grand Forks, MN and special niece, Shirley (Dan) Goodwin, Deerwood, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardell; a son, Dale and a grandson, Gregory Jeffrey; her parents; two brothers and two sisters.

In Lieu of Flowers: Memorials may be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley or the charity of your choice.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2016 in Bethany Lutheran Church, 10321 State Hwy 220 NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721.                                                

Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral service in the church on Friday.                                                       

Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN.
