On Tuesday, March 21, Ben Hylden of Park River, N.D., appeared as a guest speaker at the Greenbush School campus and shared a very moving message with those in attendance.
It was Good Friday, April 6, 2007. This 16-year-old, who lived and played basketball, was in a hurry to get to school. The road he traveled on a daily basis was icy in areas.
“I remember losing control, the car began flipping through the air, back and forth, and around,” he said.
Thrown out the passenger door he plunged head first into a farm field. His face and body were crushed.
“What I thought was reality was over. A 16-year-old, I was accepting death. My lungs were filled with blood…(I) couldn’t breathe. How I lived my life was flashing before me. I saw my parents…my hope was to get to see them again but it was too late.”
