Thomas “Tom” Ralph Mathues, age 82, of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND.
Tom was born on May 29, 1934, the son of the late Louis and Edna (Tebo) Mathues of East Grand Forks, MN. He was one of ten children. Tom worked most of his life performing over the road trucking and for Peterson Construction. He was united in marriage on April 8, 1961, to Janet Thompson in East Grand Forks, MN.
Surviving family members include daughter Lori (Dennis) White of Davenport, FL; son, Larry (Gloria) Reichman of Warner Robbins, GA; two amazing grandchildren, Heather (David) Barb of Coral Springs, FL and Heidi (Jason) Griffin from Kathleen, GA; he also has three great-grandchildren, Parker Barb and Luke and Blake Griffin; siblings, Marie “Toots” Barrett, Elsie Yanish, Shirley (Bill) Grassel; Loretta (Don) Coulter; and Chuck (Susan) Mathues, all of East Grand Forks, MN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and his “grand puppies Callie and Coal”. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Richard Mathues on May 24, 1996; wife, Janet Isabel (Thompson) Mathues on March 15, 2005; brothers, Louis, Jim, and Clifford Mathues; and sister, Dorothy Glasser.
Memorial Service: 1:30 pm ~ Thursday, April 13, 2016, at Dahl Funeral Home in East Grand Forks, MN.
